Emmett Internet (“Emmett,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to an open and fair Internet, upholding the following Net Neutrality principles:
- Transparency
- No Blocking of lawful Internet content (subject to reasonable network management)
- No Throttling of lawful Internet content (subject to reasonable network management)
- No Unreasonable Discrimination
- No Paid Prioritization of Internet Content
- Customer Freedom to access lawful content and use non-harmful applications and personal devices
This Open Internet Policy outlines how Emmett Internet manages broadband network access (“Emmett Network”) while maintaining high-speed, reliable service. It supplements our Terms and Conditions and takes precedence in case of any conflict.
Network Management Practices
A. Blocking & Throttling: We do not block or throttle lawful content unless necessary for network security or reasonable management.
B. Prioritization: Emmett Internet does not engage in paid or affiliated prioritization.
C. Congestion Management: Our service is delivered on a “best efforts” basis. In peak usage times, bandwidth is allocated fairly among all customers. We may temporarily reduce speeds for users exceeding their data plan limits.
D. Application-Specific Behavior: All lawful applications are treated equally, though we may restrict those posing security risks.
E. Device Attachment: Customers may connect non-harmful third-party devices unless they compromise network integrity.
F. Security: We implement measures to protect the network, including monitoring for cyber threats, blocking harmful traffic, and preventing unauthorized access.
